Le Bon goût frais des Îles de la Madeleine (the fresh taste of the Magdalen Islands) represents a group of companies offering local products made in the “Îles-de-la-Madeleine”. On the Islands, land and sea are so close, taste it!!!
FISH OR MEAT?
High quality seal meat has no “fishy” taste. Prepared in a proper manner it has been compared to the dining experience of a fine beef filet mignon.
At the Federal level, seal is considered as a “fish” because it lives in water. In the province of Quebec, seal is considered as meat because it is a mammal. This disagreement on seal product regulations has slowed down market development and responsible resource management for many years.

PURITY, FRESHNESS AND QUALITY
100% CANADIAN
Our natural products are harvested in the cold pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean surrounding the coasts of the Magdalen Islands and Newfoundland.
KNOW-HOW FROM THE MAGDALEN ISLANDS
Our processing know-how for seal meat comes from Mr. Réjean Vigneau, from the Magdalen Islands (Îles-de-la-Madeleine), a small island located East of the province of Quebec. Mr. Vigneau worked closely with the MAPAQ in order to develop harvesting, conservation and processing protocols for high quality seal meat.

SUPERIOR QUALITY
All of our products follow strict food, transportation and processing protocols approved and inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Brined in frozen sea water, all our meat cuts are defatted manually.
