MARIE-CLAUDE MOLNAR & SEADNA
Marie-Claude Molnar is a para-cycling athlete on the international scene and she is in her 11th season of competition. What is her secret? Marie-Claude explains that the most important is to have a preparation process that includes physical preparation, mental preparation and most importantly, a good diet.
“It’s important to eat well, especially for athletes,” explains Marie-Claude. The paralympic cyclist partners with SeaDNA for her Seal Oil Omega-3 Supply. In general, Marie-Claude uses lemon seal oil (which does not taste fishy at all!) But to travel, she uses capsules that are more convenient to carry.
HEALTH BENEFITS FOR ATHLETES
For athletes, an Omega-3 supplementation can improve neuromuscular development and reduce fatigue. In addition, seal oil has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to prevent aches and ailments due to fatigue.
The Quebec athlete tells us about the changes that seal oil has brought to her overall health: “I feel a little more energetic, it takes me less time to recover from my training and in general, I feel more healthy. “

SEAL OIL VS FISH OIL
Seal oil is different than fish oil because it contains DHA and EPA fatty acids together with another very powerful Omega-3 called DPA.
DPA :
- Is 10 X more efficient than EPA in repairing damaged vessels.
- Optimizes Omega-3 intake.
- Boosts all key omega-3’s: DPA, EPA & DHA.
- Is a better antiplatelet than EPA and DHA, reducing the risk of blood clots.
Sourcing:
Unlike fish oils which are often produced from aquaculture farms all over the world, seal oil is harvested in the pristine and icy waters surrounding the Magdalen Islands and the cost of Newfoundland in Canada. Moreover, because it comes from a hunt, it is free from hormones and antibiotics unlike some aquaculture fish oils that we can find on the market.
Absorption:
Mammalian triglyceride molecular structure means that fats are cleaved mainly in sn-1 and sn-3 positions compared to fish oil (sn-2 position ). Thanks to its different triglyceride molecular structure, seal oil is better digested and absorbed by human metabolism.
